Liverpool are ready to reignite their interest in reported Chelsea target Thomas Lemar when the transfer window opens in January and the player would prefer a move to Anfield over signing for Arsenal or the Blues, according to a report from Miguel Delaney of the Independent.
Liverpool tried to sign Lemar in the summer, as did Arsenal, but potential moves to both clubs collapsed for different reasons, however, the Gunners and the Reds are expected to make moves for him again in January, and Chelsea have been linked with a winter move for him too.
According to Delaney’s report, Jurgen Klopp is keen to add Lemar to his forward options as he looks to build a strike force that can compete with anything that any other club in Europe has to offer and it is believed that the French international would rather join the Reds instead of moving to either Arsenal and Chelsea.
Of course, that does not mean a deal for him to move to Stamford Bridge is out of the question as numerous things can change between now and January.
