Chelsea are reportedly set to make another move for Everton playmaker Ross Barkley in January.
According to the Daily Mail, the Blues remain keen to land the England international, who is yet to play a minute of football this season due to injury troubles.
Barkley was poised to put pen to paper on a deal at Chelsea in the final hours of the summer transfer window, before he pulled the plug at the very last minute.
It’s stated in the report that Barkley is just two weeks away from returning to full fitness, meaning that he could be back in action for the Toffees before the January transfer window does open.
Barkley is out of contract at the end of the season and will then be able to leave Everton on a free transfer. However, the Merseyside outfit could opt to cash in and offload the 24-year-old when the New Year does come around.
Tottenham Hotspur are said to still be keen on Barkley.
