Jamie Carragher has told Sky Sports that he believes Arsenal are still the dominant club in North London (via The Mirror).
Last Saturday’s performance and win was such a pleasing one for every Arsenal fan.
Beating Spurs is always good but the performance which the Gunners put in and the current state of the two clubs just make things even better.
Spurs have an impressive squad made up of some very good players and finished above Arsenal last season for the first time in two decades.
It has been suggested that the quality in both squads represents a power shift in North London but Sky Sports’ Jamie Carragher doesn’t think so.
“I think it has to be five or six years where you finish above your rivals,” Carragher said.
“A big player, if they had the option between Spurs or Arsenal in the summer, I still think a big foreign player would choose Arsenal.”
There is some definite truth in that. Spurs have some very good players right now but aren’t exactly making marquee signings. Most of the recruitment going on at White Hart Lane is smaller, under the radar deals, unlike the £52 million Arsenal spent to bring in Alexandre Lacazette over the summer.
