United legend hails Solskjaer's 'masterstroke' vs Leeds United

Manchester United legend Gary Neville has praised manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for a ‘masterstroke’ that provided the catalyst for the team’s stunning 6-2 victory against Leeds United at Old Trafford yesterday.

Having only won one of their previous six home Premier League games this season and scored only three goals, Solskjaer’s men finally clicked into gear in true style yesterday and Neville believes that a brilliant tactical move by the manager was responsible for the transformation.
‘I was surprised when I saw James’ name on the teamsheet, but it looks like a masterstroke from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer,’ the former captain said during his Sky Sports commentary.
‘The space that there is in this game, with his speed, it’s given Manchester United a real outlet.
‘[It’s] the perfect game for him.’
Many eyebrows were raised when James’ name appeared on the teamsheet, having hardly featured at all this season in a run of poor form for the Red Devils.
But Solskjaer put faith in the Welshman, calculating that his blistering pace would help United counter-attack and exploit Marcelo Bielsa’s high defensive line.
James capped his fine performance by scoring United’s fifth goal and could have won a penalty when he was brought down in the first half, only for referee Anthony Taylor to book him for diving.
‘I think you saw what he did for us today,’ the boss said of James on MUTV.

‘Starting off on the front foot, he’s so quick and sharp and, for me, I don’t know if it’s inside or outside the area, but it’s either a penalty or a free-kick for Dan when he gets his [Cooper’s] arm and [yet] he gets a yellow card for diving. That’s shocking refereeing.’
