Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has weakly defended his decision to not take Fred off during the loss to PSG.
The tenacious Brazilian was sent off in the 3-1 defeat after collecting two yellow cards during two of the most controversial moments of the match.
Fans were confused as to why Fred was not substituted at the break as he seemed set to get a second yellow and subsequently cost the team.
The former Shakhtar Donetsk man is not solely to blame for the result but he still should’ve done better in regards to keeping his composure.
Solskjaer clearly placed his faith in Fred and was ultimately let down but those who criticise the manager will point out how it was blind faith.
Solskjaer on if he should’ve taken Fred off at half time: “Maybe, but he’s been playing really well and he knew to stay on his feet. It wasn’t a foul and Ander knows that. He knows that”

Nemanja Matic, Donny van de Beek and Paul Pogba were all on the substitutes bench ready to be called upon if needed but they weren’t.
The latter two would eventually come on but only after the damage was already done and United were down to ten men.
Paul Scholes lamented how the referee appeared eager to send Fred off but the truth is that the player nor the manager should’ve ever allowed such a moment to transpire.
