The Premier League is back as Arsenal prepare to take on Newcastle United at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
The Gunners should be prepared and raring to go after enjoying a mid-season warm-weather break to Dubai.
Now, the club has confirmed the team news for Sunday’s match and it’s good news on the injury front with a number of players back in action.
The Gunners will welcome back Bukayo Saka, Reiss Nelson, and Sead Kolasinac to full fitness.
Elsewhere, Pablo Mari is back in full training and both Kieran Tierney and Cedric Soares are expected to follow suit before the end of the month.
“He is doing very good progress but we need to wait for the bone and the attachment to the tendon to heal before he can make any contact,” Mikel Arteta said of Tierney.
“He has been training, his work ethic is incredible, I have been really impressed with him so hopefully we can get him back soon but we need to be a little bit patient with him.”
It’s good news for Arsenal. After struggling with defensive issues before the break, the Gunners will soon be spoilt for choice at the back. The big question for Mikel Arteta is whether he should stick with Bukayo Saka at left-back now that Sead Kolasinac is back.
