Olivier Giroud made a cameo appearance from the bench during Chelsea’s recent defeat against Manchester United.
The Frenchman has not started a game for the Blues since last November (Transfermarkt) but many of the club’s fans want to see his name in the starting XI for this weekend’s London derby against Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur.
Giroud looked dangerous when he came on against the Red Devils and even had the ball in the net, only for the goal to be ruled out for offside after a VAR review.
The 33-year-old has scored three times in his career against Spurs and clearly, the fans want to see him extend that record and also help Frank Lampard’s team in a crucial match in regards to the top four.
The Blues are only one point above their rivals ahead of the clash and Lampard’s side could drop as far as seventh if results go against them this weekend.
These fans on Twitter believe they’ve been missing something up front that Giroud could offer them and have called for him to start the clash.
