Chelsea look to bolster their midfield ranks in the summer by signing Inter Milan midfielder Matias Vecino, but face competition from Everton.
According to the Express, Chelsea are ready to beat the Toffees by meeting Inter’s £23million valuation to bring the 28-year-old to Stamford Bridge.
The report adds that former Blues manager Antonio Conte will offload Vecino in order to fund his own transfer plans.
Frank Lampard has been handed a reported £150million to begin the rebuild at Chelsea in his first proper summer window as manager.

Vecino has made 17 appearances in Inter’s Serie A title pursuit this season, maintaining an 80% pass accuracy and contributing to four goals.
I think he’d be a good addition to Lampard’s squad, however, I don’t believe the midfield should be where Chelsea focus their recruitment at the end of the season.
Other parts of the squad are thin, but I think Lampard could have some of the league’s best midfield options available to him in N’Golo Kante, Jorginho, Mateo Kovacic and the soon-to-return Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
All gour are full internationals and have conjured up 56 key passes between them in the Premier League this season.
On top of that, there are also Mason Mount, Ross Barkley and Billy Gilmour providing alternative options.
In my opinion, Lampard needs to address his forward options by bringing in a goalscorer before anything else once the transfer window reopens.
It’s obviously nice having plenty of options in one position, but there are areas you could say are probably in need of more attention than in midfield for now.
