Rangers have reportedly made contact with Chelsea forward Olivier Giroud as they eye a January deal for the French international.
According to L’Equipe, via GFFN, Rangers have spoken to Giroud, but they have little chance of securing a deal for him.

The report claims that Rangers are unlikely to land Giroud in January, which means that they will need to move on to alternative targets.

Giroud has found himself out of favour under Frank Lampard this season and a January exit from Stamford Bridge would make sense. He cannot get a game ahead of Tammy Abraham or Michy Batshuayi, who are both far younger than the Frenchman, which has led to him seeking a move away.
The striker is still a regular for France at international level, which suggests that he still has what it takes to play in a top European league – rather than in Scotland with Rangers. It will be interesting to now see where Giroud ends up at the end of the transfer window, if he indeed moves at all in the next four weeks.
