Manchester United are reportedly not just targeting British players contrary to rumours and fans’ general feelings.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had confirmed previously the priority was to sign emerging British talent but it seems now that wasn’t an exclusive transfer policy.
Harry Maguire, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Daniel James were all signed last summer which led fans to believe such and so it’s understandable.
The former Leicester star is more experienced than his teammates but still wouldn’t be considered as an old player.
United have been linked with signing Juventus’ Mario Mandzukic which is obviously completely opposite to the aforementioned transfer policy so there seems to be some truth in this report.
#mufc will sign foreign players, not just British players. James, Maguire and Wan-Bissaka just happened to be British #mulive [the athletic]

If British players weren’t an exclusive part of the club’s transfer policy it does beg the question whether signing Maguire for that much money was worth it.
It could be argued better players were available for cheaper but nonetheless Solskjaer will have to justify the transfer regardless.
The January transfer window is just around the corner so it will be interesting to see what kind of signings Manchester United make.
Their youthful squad is in need of some experience but also some investment in the midfield and attacking positions.
