Manchester United youngster Mason Greenwood has had a big show of faith from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after he was handed a new deal.
The legendary Norwegian has spoken multiple times of his admiration for the academy product but he’s now put money where his mouth is.
Greenwood has been regularly involved with the first-team this season though most of his appearances have been made off of the bench.
He has made the most of them by netting a few decent goals and it’s likely his influence will continue to grow.
It’s difficult to imagine it’d be long before Greenwood’s in the starting XI regularly, particularly if Solskjaer remains the manager.

While it was important to secure Greenwood’s future, it could be argued that there was no need to hand him a new deal just yet.
He certainly has impressed and is expected to have a bright future but as Manchester United fans have experienced many times in the past, that can change pretty quickly.
Greenwood could’ve shown more of his quality before he was handed a new deal, especially since he’s only 18 so there’s no rush.
If for some reason the young Englishman doesn’t succeed, it may be difficult for the club to offload him in the future.
