Manchester United are keeping an eye on Ralf Rangnick as a potential successor to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer should the Norwegian receive the sack this season, according to a report.
Despite an improved performance against Liverpool, Solskjaer remains under heavy pressure amid a run which has seen Man United manage just two wins from their last 14 Premier League games.
Although some reports suggest differently, Ed Woodward remains fully behind the 46-year-old and wants to back his project over at least the next three years.
However, according to the Guardian, United have pinpointed Rangnick as a potential successor should Solskjaer’s position become untenable at some point this season.
Rangnick, who is currently head of sport and development at Red Bull, has enjoyed success managing RB Leipzig and holds a reputation for transforming clubs through a strong emphasis on player development.
The 61-year-old recently noted that he would be open to working in the Premier League.
