Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reportedly keen on adding attacking depth to his squad this January.
If it was not something the legendary Norwegian was planning to do before, it’s certainly something he must be considering now with key attackers Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford already picking up injuries.
United’s squad depth was already thin with the aforementioned two available and fans had aired their concerns months ago in terms of the squad’s health.
Solskjaer may not survive past the January transfer window if his players don’t put in improved performances after a questionable start to the season.
Paul Pogba’s absence certainly hasn’t helped matters either with the Red Devils also lacking real playmakers.
According to the Independent, Solskjaer will look to sign a striker in January with Juventus’ Mario Mandzukic and Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele the targets as squad depth is needed.
The Croatian will definitely add experience to the squad and be a more than decent rotational option but his age is a concern unless he’s tied down to a short contract.
Dembele will likely cost a tonne of money despite Barcelona being open for business and he is a flank player rather than an out and out striker.
