Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reportedly set to hand the likes of Mason Greenwood a new deal in order to prove his faith in the club’s youngsters.
The legendary Norwegian has spoken of the need to create a clear pathway for some of the club’s young stars in order to give them the best opportunity to prove their worth.
In pre-season they were all given a chance but fans didn’t take it seriously as that’s normally the case in pre-season.
However, Solskjaer has taken it a step further by playing Greenwood multiple times off the bench and it appears he’s also willing to hand them all new contracts.
Tying their futures up now may be a long-term business decision but it could be argued that it’s not the wisest decision.

The case to be made against handing these players new deals is that they haven’t truly made a regular impact on the first-team just yet.
Manchester United have previously handed youngsters new deals only to later struggle to offload them due to their high wages.
A new contract or a pay rise has to be performance based and so far there’s nothing to suggest the need to rush into handing anything out.
