Reports suggest that Arsenal are set to offer Matteo Guendouzi a major new five-year contract (via The Mail).
He’s one of the most exciting young players at the club but that wasn’t always the case for Matteo Guendouzi.
The 20-year-old only signed for the Gunners last year to little fanfare. He was hardly a household name but in the last 12 months, that has changed.
The midfielder started well and has steadily improved in the centre of Arsenal’s midfield, something which has continued this season.
Now, reports in England suggest that the Gunners are ready to offer the Frenchman a new five-year contract.
The Mail has claimed that it would almost double Guendouz’s current salary of £40,000 per week.
Arsenal have lost more than their fair share of key players in recent years so now it looks as if they are acting fast to secure the pick of the squad. Matteo Guendouzi is an excellent prospect who has already done so much in an Arsenal shirt. If he keeps developing at his current rate then the Gunners will have one of the most exciting midfielders in Europe on their hands. It’s encouraging to see they are making an effort to secure their best players.
