David de Gea 6 – Superb save to keep Crystal Palace from going 2-0 up but he later made an error and conceded poorly.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka 7 – Can’t question his defensive solidity and was even more attacking than usual. Manchester United’s constant wide output.
Harry Maguire 6 – Strong aerially but it could be debated whether he was equally at fault for the opener having failed to cover Victor Lindelof.
Victor Lindelof 5 – Had a terrible couple of minutes when he seemingly couldn’t win any of his duels leaving Crystal Palace to score the first goal.
Luke Shaw N/A – Few pieces of decent play but was subbed off after picking up a knock having made a lung-bursting run.
Scott McTominay 6 – Chased after every ball and even made a few runs forwards himself, winning the penalty Marcus Rashford failed to convert.
Paul Pogba 6 – It’s clear to see United aren’t getting the best out of him in his new role. Better off being pushed further forward.
Daniel James 7 – Took his man on at every opportunity and had one or two chances to grab a goal so his persistence eventually paid off.
Jesse Lingard 5 – The perfect game for a number ten to take apart a stubborn Crystal Palace side. Unfortunately Lingard’s poor form continues.
Marcus Rashford 5 – Hardly had much to shout about before the penalty and so his miss made everything worse. Failed to track his opposite full-back and allowed him to score.
Anthony Martial 7 – Provided the assist for James and couldn’t have done much more as a number nine.
Substitutes
Juan Mata N/A
Ashley Young 6- Was not as bad as fans may have feared he’d be.
Mason Greenwood 6- Relatively quiet game from out wide.
