Manchester United star David de Gea could reportedly leave the club earlier than anticipated amidst rumours over a breakdown in communications regarding a new contract.
The Spaniard’s current deal expires next season with PSG said to be lurking over any possibility to sign him.
The goalkeeper was believed to be keen on remaining but only if United paid him what he’s truly worth in what could be his last big contract before his age catches up to him.
De Gea has not been happy to be paid less than Alexis Sanchez and is right to feel he deserves more money given how he’s essentially been the club’s best player since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement.
Nonetheless, with club and player failing to agree over a new contract, the possibility of him being moved on is increasing.
According to the Sun, David will force the Red Devils to lower their asking price to £60m but will want half that fee for himself, otherwise he plans on leaving for free next summer.
PSG and Juventus are said to be keen on the former Atletico Madrid man but it’s doubtful they’ll pay so much to sign him now rather than wait a few months and signing a pre-contract in January.
