Manchester United have reportedly targeted Sevilla star Wissam Ben Yedder as they continue their efforts for a summer squad overhaul.
The Frenchman’s outstanding performances in Spain hasn’t gone under the radar with it even earning him a few appearances for his country on the international stage.
It’s no surprise to see the striker linked with United given he has scored 30 goals across all competitions and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is said to be looking to add to his attacking options.
Ben Yedder’s age is certainly going to raise question marks as he turns 29 later this summer with those at Old Trafford previously making a similar mistake in Alexis Sanchez.
Signing the goalscorer doesn’t seem to fit Solskjaer’s transfer policy though it may be yet another desperate move in the market.
According to the Daily Mail, ABC de Sevilla report that the Red Devils will trigger Wissam’s £35.9m release clause should Romelu Lukaku be sold to Inter Milan or anyone else.
Should the Belgian leave it’s tough to think of one top striker who is available for Ole to sign and so a release clause as well as a temporary fix may be the only solution.
Mauro Icardi would actually be the ideal signing but it’s been said neither party are interested in a transfer.
