Manchester United have reportedly attempted to keep Real Madrid at bay by scaring them off with their new asking price for Paul Pogba.
The Frenchman has been a target of the Spanish side for quite some time now but it appears Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is attempting everything to keep a hold of his main star.
The Norwegian was said to be willing to hand the midfielder the captaincy in a bid to keep him happy but perhaps that wasn’t enough to convince him.
Madrid have been pretty persistent so far if reports are to be believed and they seem to be planning to offload some stars to raise funds for Pogba.
The former Juventus man would certainly add quality to the La Liga giant’s engine room but United simply can’t afford to lose him.
According to the Mirror, the Red Devils will not budge on their £150m asking price for Paul after reports emerged over Real’s willingness to spend £135m to get their man.
There’s a small difference in price between the two clubs but it appears Solskjaer’s refusal to budge is down to how highly he values the academy product.
Manchester United are understood to not want to sell at all but should they be strong armed into it, then it’s clear they want the best possible price.
