Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reportedly planning on realigning his side’s transfer strategy in a bid to improve quality of signings.
The Norwegian has yet to sign a player of his own so far, choosing to use the January transfer window as a way of getting rid of Marouane Fellaini instead.
To be fair to the United legend, he wasn’t made permanent manager just yet and the winter transfer window is notoriously a bad time to do business.
Nonetheless, Solskjaer has recognised that his side’s investment in the past has been poor with only a handful of players proving to be somewhat successful.
Fans have been calling for a smarter approach for quite some time now and it seems they may finally get what they’ve wished for.
According to Manchester Evening News, Ole wants to ensure the club bring in the right type of players instead of focussing on marketable names and prefers having all transfers completed before the 8th of July.
While that strategy makes sense, there is some concern the board won’t be too happy with it.
Executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward will be keen on making sure whoever they sign will sell lots of shirts and make United a lot of return after investing in them.
