Manchester United legend Gary Neville has blasted the players after their recent poor form culminated in a draw with Huddersfield that meant they can no longer mathematically qualify for next season’s edition of the Champions League.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has a lot of work to do this summer as he aims to return his former side to the top of English football.
United will now have to attempt to lure in top talent with only Europa League football there to offer them.
It wouldn’t be the first time but it could be argued that the investment needs to be smarter this time around.
Neville clearly doesn’t like this crop of players but by the time next season comes around, he may not see some of them.

It’s a little harsh for Gary accusing them of switching off though it could look like that, that hasn’t really been the case.
The Manchester United players are quite simply exhausted. Unfortunately for Solskjaer he can’t work on their fitness until pre-season comes around.
This is the same crop of players who beat the likes of Chelsea, Tottenham, Arsenal and PSG all at the start of his reign.
They’re all just burnt out and so the results have gotten worse and worse no matter what Ole does.
