Real Madrid have completed the signing of Chelsea transfer target Luka Jovic from Eintracht Frankfurt for €60million, according to AS.
The 21 year old striker has been the subject of much transfer speculation during these past few months, with his stock having risen dramatically following a stellar season in the Bundesliga.
The Serbia international has scored 27 goals for club and country this season, and this form had prompted Frankfurt to activate their loan-to-buy clause from Benfica, completing the signing for just €7million.
It was always expected that Frankfurt would sell Jovic on for a profit this summer, and according to AS’s report, Madrid have completed the purchase, paying €48million to Frankfurt and €12million to Benfica.
While the club haven’t yet confirmed any deal being in place, AS report that Jovic has signed a six-year contract to move to the Bernabeu, amid interest from other clubs, notably Paris Saint-Germain.
The forward becomes Real Madrid’s second signing of the summer after versatile Porto defender Eder Militao.
This means Chelsea are back to the drawing board in regards to their striker hunt, with the long-term futures of Olivier Giroud, Michy Batshuayi and Gonzalo Higuain all up in the air.
