Eden Hazard will refuse to sign a new deal at Chelsea this summer, according to the Telegraph.
The Belgian is being widely tipped to join Real Madrid at the end of the season, following seven years as a Blues player.
Although Hazard has resisted interest from other clubs in the past, his Stamford Bridge exit does now feel increasingly likely.
This latest report states that the 28-year-old “has no intention” of signing a new contract at Chelsea, “even if the club try to play hardball with Real Madrid.”
His current deal runs until the summer of 2020, meaning he could leave on a free transfer at the end of the 2019/20 campaign.
Hazard appears to have made his mind up, however, with the lure of playing under his idol Zinedine Zidane playing a big part in his decision.
While Chelsea will fight to keep hold of their star man, they look fairly resigned to losing him.
Madrid are still reluctant to match the Blues’ £100 asking price, however, which is the one potential stumbling block in the move.
