A goal in each half from Eden Hazard ensured Chelsea moved up to third in the league for the first time since December, as West Ham fell victim to Maurizio Sarri’s resurgent Blues side.
Chelsea produced a pulsating attacking display to swat aside their London rivals in the first-half, with Hazard figuring at the centre of the Blues’ dominance.
The Belgian winger not only silenced a fiery away crowd with a sublime solo effort but looked to create chances for his teammates by driving into the middle of the park and distributing out wide to the likes of Callum Hudson-Odoi and Gonzalo Higuain, both of whom tested Lukas Fabianski.
Manuel Pellegrini switched out Javier Hernandez for Robert Snodgrass at the interval and this tactical switch ensured the game became a contest for the first time, as West Ham were able to retain possession in attacking areas of the pitch.
The back and forth nature of the game suited the Hammers more and they peppered Kepa Arrizabalaga’s goal with shots, but it would be Chelsea who struck the decisive blow with minutes left as Hazard popped up again to seal the three points, arrowing his shot into the far corner from inside the area.
Here’s how we visited the Blues who featured against West Ham:
