Manchester United are reportedly ready to break the bank for West Ham star Declan Rice in a summer they could potentially lose Ander Herrera.
The Spaniard’s current deal is just months away from expiring which could mean he’ll need replacing.
It’s believed United’s negotiations with Herrera over a new contract has been going on for a while now with no end in sight.
Rice would represent a youthful addition to the squad and a versatile option as well considering how he can play as a centre-back and a defensive-midfielder.
Perhaps the Englishman is being brought in to provide cover for Nemanja Matic instead.
According to Sports Mole, the Independent report that the Red Devils are willing to spend big on Declan from their rumoured £200m+ transfer budget for the summer.
Fans would probably prefer the club to break the bank on a more proven player in an area that needs prioritising.
The centre-back and right-wing positions are widely considered to be of more importance so perhaps the money would be better off spent there.
Though also relatively unproven, supporters have been calling for Jadon Sancho to be pried away from Borussia Dortmund or the likes of Kalidou Koulibaly signed for the defence.
