Mark Noble has hailed Eden Hazard following West Ham 2-0 loss to Chelsea, describing the Belgian as “so difficult to stop”.
The Blues beat the Hammers at Stamford Bridge on Monday, with the club’s superstar Hazard scoring both of the home side’s goals.
Contributing in a guest column for Standard Sport, Noble explained his side couldn’t do much to prevent Hazard’s first goal, and that the Belgium international is a difficult competitor to face. Noble wrote:
Obviously Eden Hazard’s first goal stole the headlines at Chelsea on Monday and there’s not a lot we could have done about it.
If you foul him, it’s a penalty and he has such quick feet, he is so difficult to stop when he is in full flow. He doesn’t let you mark him, get close to him and when he has the ball he is deceptively strong. He has a low centre of gravity and is solidly built.
Even when you kick him — I’ve tried once or twice! — you can’t get the ball off him.
He’s 28 and probably got one big contract left. Wherever that is, Chelsea or Real Madrid, I reckon he’s looking at a nice pay day and we’ve probably helped him towards it by conceding that goal. I just hope that Chelsea fans appreciate him and don’t take him for granted because he is one special talent.
