Manchester United star Ander Herrera has worried fans by admitting him and the club aren’t on the same page.
The Spaniard has been reportedly linked with PSG with the French champions claimed to be interested in signing him for free.
The midfielder’s contract runs out this summer with United struggling to tie him down to a new deal.
Herrera has been fantastic under new boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer but it appears the pair’s time together may be cut short.
Supporters are in agreement the former Atletico Bilbao man should at the very least be kept as a squad option if not more.
According to Sport Witness, Ander said: “It’s true that I only have two months on my contract left, and today, Manchester (United) and I aren’t thinking the same and there is no renewal agreement, but my duty is to keep listening to United.
“What I have clear is that I’m going to continue playing in a big team… I will listen to United, of course, but also to other clubs. I do not close doors.”
Negotiations have been going on for quite some time now and it’s clear to see both parties can’t see eye to eye.
It’s believed Herrera is asking for more wages than the club is willing to offer given his age.
Manchester United don’t want to be stuck with a 30+ year old on wages so high they can’t move him on when the time comes to do so.
It’s happened in the past but there’s a risk they would be losing a quality player right now and there’s no doubt they would have to spend far more in replacing him.
