Chelsea haven’t impressed this season, but there is still time for them to salvage some success.
The Blues were defeated in the final of the Carabao Cup in unfortunate circumstances, as Manchester City beat them following an intense penalty shootout.
However, they remain well in the hunt for Champions League qualification ahead of next season, and this is via two possible avenues.
Maurizio Sarri could lead his team to a top-four finish in the Premier League this season despite their inconsistencies while winning the Europa League would also book the Blues a place in the illustrious competition.
If they are to finish the campaign strongly, however, they will need their key players to step up and shine, which hasn’t always been the case this season.
Chelsea’s summer arrivals have hardly impressed since their moves to Stamford Bridge, and their only January signing has also flattered to deceive.
While they still have time to redeem their previous shortcomings, Sarri and Blues fans alike will be hoping that the new boys can finally kick on and prove their worth.
For now, though, take a look at how we graded Chelsea’s summer and mid-season signings as the season begins to draw to a close.
