Unai Emery has insisted that he blames himself for the 3-1 defeat to Wolves on Wednesday night (via Arsenal.com).
It was a hugely disappointing night for Arsenal and one which – in the eyes of many – ended their chances of the top-four.
The Gunners are now a point behind Chelsea in fourth but would have been in the driving seat had they picked up the win.
Three first-half goals were enough for the home side at Molineux, something which Unai Emery responded to after the match.
“We didn’t do the game plan like I wanted,” Emery said in his post-match press conference.
“I am not angry with the players, I am angry with myself. My idea and my style is to look in front and find a solution.
“When we win, we win together, and when we lose, we lose together. In general, I think we are with the possibility to be in the top four and today we lost having it in our hands.
“[We need to] continue and I want to tell the players and the supporters to continue and take the opportunity on Sunday.”
It was a hugely disappointing result but one which many could have expected. Wolves have an excellent record against the Premier League’s top six and that only improved on Wednesday night.
