Arsenal star Alex Iwobi has claimed that the race for the top four is still on for Arsenal despite consecutive defeats in the Premier League (via Arsenal.com).
There are just three fixtures remaining in the Premier League with Arsenal scheduled for trips to Leicester and Burnley either side of a home match against Brighton.
The 3-1 defeat to Wolves on Wednesday left Arsenal a point behind Chelsea in fourth and the race for Champions League qualification.
“It’s not a good result when we want to get in the top four, but we can’t dwell on it, we have to move on to the next game,” said Alex Iwobi after the match before being asked about the top four.
“Yeah, it’s still up for grabs. We believe we have a chance, so we’ll keep going.”
Usually, fans would be confident of three victories from their remaining Premier League fixtures but given Arsenal’s away form, that is in doubt. That puts the race for the top four in serious doubt because even if the Gunners win all three matches, there’s no guarantee of a place. Let’s hope Chelsea continue to drop points and the Gunners can capitalise.
