Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi is still wanted by Bundesliga side Bayern Munich this Summer even after picking up an Achilles injury this week.
The striker had been a target for the Bundesliga side last January, with Bayern having bids rejected for Hudson-Odoi.
Hudson-Odoi is set to be on the sidelines for a while thanks to the injury.
Achilles injuries normally take, on average, six months to heal properly, meaning that the striker is set to miss the start of next season.
Chelsea have made their intentions clear that they want to keep the striker, with Hudson-Odoi having only a year left to run on his contract at the Blues.
Reports suggested that Chelsea offered him a deal in January to keep him at the club, but the striker wanted an increase in his playing time before he signed any new deal.
However, reports have now suggested that Bayern have not changed their transfer plans for this Summer, despite the injury to the forward.
According to the Evening Standard, Bayern Chairman Uli Hoeness has revealed that plans have not changed in their pursuit of the striker, despite him picking up the injury.
The Bayern chief said:
(Chairman) Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and (sporting director) Hasan Salihamidzic have said that he is an interesting player.
I think we keep thinking about it. But he’s just (been) on the operating table. Therefore it makes no sense to comment on this.
