Chelsea target addresses future following strong Blues link

Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson has revealed he is happy with his current club and hasn’t bought into any interest linking him with a move away from the south coast, the Daily Star report.

The 27-year-old, who joined the Cherries from Coventry City back in 2014, has played a key role in the club’s phenomenal rise to the Premier League.

Wilson has found the back of the net 50 times in the league for Bournemouth since arriving, including 11 this season, which has caught the eye of Chelsea officials.

However, the Blues have recently been handed a two-window transfer ban by FIFA for breaching rules in relation to youth players.

The club have since appealed the decision and boss Maurizio Sarri may well be allowed to bring players in this summer if the decision is overturned later this month.

And talking at the Football for Peace initiative dinner this week, Wilson admitted that he is happy with his current club and that a high-profile move away from the Vitality Stadium doesn’t interest him if regular game time isn’t guaranteed.

I signed a long-term contract, I’m happy down there – I’m playing football.

As a professional who’s had the injuries that I’ve had, I just want to play.

I’m happiest when I’m on the pitch. I never want to go and sort of be somewhere that I’m not going to play.

I never want to see myself not playing at Bournemouth even, being on the bench and things like that.

Any player has aspirations to play for their country, like I’ve managed to do thankfully, and play in the Champions League – different big occasions and big stages.

I’ve been linked [with big clubs] from a young age when I’m doing well – so I tend not to buy into it really.
