Nothing seemed to go Manchester United’s way in their clash against Arsenal just days after their stunning result against PSG where everything appeared to go there way.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men were edged out 2-0 at the Emirates with the opening goal coming from a swerving long-range effort from Granit Xhaka.
In the second half Alexandre Lacazette went down a little softly in United’s box to earn a penalty Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang converted.
Despite the negatives, Solskjaer’s men were actually unfortunate to at least not have scored a goal if not equalise the tie.
The Red Devils created more chances than they did against PSG but didn’t show the same efficiency as they did in Paris.
If the penalty is removed, Arsenal's xG:
Arsenal: 0.88
Man Utd: 2.37With the penalty:
Arsenal: 1.53
Man Utd: 2.37A poor game in terms of finishing but United were the better team over the 90 minutes.

Romelu Lukaku was a little guilty of missing chances but it would be harsh to criticise him given his conversion rate of late.
His teammates were also a little wasteful themselves so it would be unfair to pick on him in particular.
The open half an hour of the match was clearly Arsenal’s but after that, Manchester United really did pick up the pace.
The Gunners took advantage of their opponents need to score and attempted to hit them on the counter-attack yet couldn’t manage to do so from open play.
United’s midfield was quite open but it was due to their attempts to turn the tie around with Nemanja Matic also not enjoying a good game.
The Serbian has enjoyed a stunning turnaround in form under Solskjaer but against Arsenal he was rusty as he returned from injury.
With Unai Emery’s men trying to counter-attack frequently, Matic’s lack of pace on the break was exposed and it could’ve been worse had either one of Chris Smalling or Victor Lindelof been slow centre-backs.
Nonetheless, the Red Devils had plenty of opportunities to lead the game when the tie was in the balance or equalise when it was just 1-0 or even just to score when the Gunners were 2-0 up.
