Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed he is in fact involved with the club’s transfer plans for the summer.
Although the Norwegian is expected to remain beyond May, he is still technically a caretaker manager.
Given his current position it is a bit surprising seeing that he’s involved with the decisions United will make in the future.
Vice-executive chairman Ed Woodward should especially be wary given how there have been complaints previous managers didn’t bring in the right players.
The mix of different styles the current crop of players are is due to some of them being brought in by David Moyes, some by Louis van Gaal and some by Jose Mourinho.
Ole: “As a manager now, I say where I think we should progress, what positions I think we need new players in, and what positions I think we will have great academy players in.” #mufc [Fotballklubben]

Ole: “Now the club is working on the players they want to bring in in the summer, and I've been a part of a couple of those. There is a lot of work that goes into this, and then I come in at the end of the process.” #mufc [Fotballklubben]

Should Solskjaer bring in other players but somehow end up not getting the job permanently, the Red Devils will be with yet a different set of players again.
The club needs a definitive style of play or identity with each it would make it easy to bring in players regardless of what manager is brought in.
Manchester United could then keep in mind which manager suits their identity and hire them as such.
A director of football is the person to help with such a situation but hopefully the above is a hint that Ole will be remaining at the club permanently.
