With Chelsea unable to sign players until January 2020, it’s reasonable to assume that the Blues will be forced to utilise some of their vast loan network in an effort to field a competitive team.
One such player who could be called in from the cold is Kurt Zouma, who has been loaned to Everton for the 2018/19 season.
The Toffees had hoped to secure a permanent deal for the defender at the end of the campaign, but it seems as though the transfer ban may complicate matters somewhat.
The central defender has impressed at the heart of the Merseysiders’ defence, and Chelsea officials may choose to include him in their squad.
With reports suggesting David Luiz could be heading out the door, the 24-year-old stands as an obvious replacement for the Brazilian.
The Frenchman is still coveted by Everton on a full-time basis, however, and Marco Silva is quoted by the Liverpool Echo as saying:
Let’s see what we can do or not and what will be our decision,
It is also about the decision of Kurt and Chelsea so there will be three parts on his possible or not deal: us, Kurt and Chelsea.
In the right moment we have to take our decision, they have to take a decision and Kurt also.
Let’s see what we can do.
