Manchester United star Nemanja Matic has insisted he wants Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to stay at the club permanently even after suffering back to back losses.
The Norwegian has recently overseen his worst spell during his short reign so far with both Arsenal and Wolves defeating his side.
The Gunners beat United in what was a huge blow to the club’s aspirations for a top four spot in the Premier League while the loss at the Molineux meant Solskjaer’s missed out on his most likely piece of silverware in the FA Cup.
Nonetheless, Matic, as well as his teammates, clearly feels the former Molde man is the ideal candidate to lead the club forward beyond the summer.
Reports have surfaced that Ole will be handed the reigns permanently during the international break but nothing has been officially stated yet.
According to Goal, Nemanja said: “I am sure the manager will turn this situation around and we will do better.
“I want Ole to stay. He is a great manager, very positive. We have to give our best now to reach the top four. We cannot let it go like this.
“Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham will give their best to be in the top four. Everybody knows that.
“If you see that two months ago we were 11 points behind Chelsea, then now we are in a much better position. We have eight finals to play for us so we have to learn from this defeat.”
Matic isn’t the first Manchester United star to have kind words for his manager with many of the players publicly expressing their delight with Solskjaer.
The club legend has clearly had a tremendous impact on the current crop so perhaps the recent losses are more so to do with the pile up of injuries and lack of fitness.
