Manchester United reportedly face stiff competition for PSV star Steven Bergwijn as they gear up for a summer overhaul.
Caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is widely expected to be handed the permanent role soon enough and it’s believed he’s targeting four positions.
Two full-backs, an attacking-midfielder and a right-winger are said to be the areas he’s looking to invest in.
Bergwijn certainly fits the mould and would represent the ideal signing given his age as well as potential.
The Dutchman though has several clubs interested in him and it appears as though there will be a bidding war.
According to Sports Mole, La Gazzetta dello Sport report that Inter and AC Milan are interested in signing Steven, bumping up his valuation to £35m.
The aforementioned fee is still a bargain in today’s market so it shouldn’t be too much of a problem for the Red Devils.
The Italian sides however are said to be struggling financially and so may not have too much to spare with.
Manchester United though are believed to be more interested in signing more high profile wingers such as Jadon Sancho.
Given the price-tag on the Englishman, Bergwijn represents a smarter investment in the long run.
