Manchester United fans were not pleased with their players’ performances but were satisfied they managed to grab all three points nonetheless.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men stumbled out of the blocks against Watford and never managed to truly find their feet.
Marcus Rashford‘s goal was against the run of play but United fans were delighted they managed to grab an important goal.
Anthony Martial‘s second was even more crucial given how it seemed as though the away side were going to score at any moment.
The Frenchman’s goal ended up being the winner after Watford netted in the dying embers of the game to make matters uncomfortable.
Poor performance from United today. Such a slog. Lucky to escape with three points. Shaw MOTM for me. His energy alone kept us going. Midfield atrocious. There’s a few in need of a boot to the noggin.

Thoughts on win against Watford:
– Jones and Smalling were solid
– Shaw superb MOTM
– Herrera, Pogba and Matic all poor
– Need a new RB, Young is done
– Rashford clinical under Ole
– Need a RW
– Sloppy throughout the full 90
– Big 3 points
– 13 PL games unbeaten at home— Aidan Walsh (@AidanWalshMUFC) March 30, 2019
Didn’t deserve to win that game at all in the end, so I’m delighted that we got 3 points somehow. Really weird performance, not seen us that timid under Ole until now, not sure what it was either. #mufc

Pretty forgettable performance. 3 points is all that matters. Good to start with a win for Ole but he won't be happy with what he saw today. Much work to be done. #mufc

Midfield three were all embarrassingly bad today. Hopefully it’s a one off because god help us if they’re like that against Barcelona or City.

#MUFC get out of jail with win over #WatfordFC. Away side dominated shots & meaningful possession, had more energy & tenacity, & unfortunate to leave OT with nothing. Rashford’s 1st half quality hugely significant. Several looked burnt out. Fred unfortunate not to play. #MUNWAT

There are far more difficult fixtures coming up for Manchester United with an action packed April just around the corner.
Solskjaer’s men have started to appear burnt out and it’s no surprise given his high tempo, attacking football.
Unfortunately the Norwegian hasn’t had a pre-season to turn his players into the hardworking generals he wants them to be and it’s starting to affect performances.
Rotation will prove key for United and hopefully they can keep injuries at an arm’s length to make sure their run-in is as successful as it can be.
