Eden Hazard is looking to take maximum points from Chelsea’s remaining league games in what he describes as a “hard war” in the race for the top four.
According to Goal, via Chelsea TV, the Belgian believes the battle for Champions League football is between the top six sides in the Premier League and revealed the Blues used the North London derby draw as momentum prior to their victory over Fulham.
A late missed penalty from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at Wembley ensured the crunch tie between Arsenal and Tottenham finished as a draw, meaning a Chelsea victory at Craven Cottage would close the gap to their top four rivals.
And following the Blues’ 2-1 win against Fulham, Hazard revealed he was pleased with the performance and is looking to take maximum points from the league games Chelsea have remaining.
The performance was great and we took three points. We talked together in the dressing room about Arsenal-Tottenham. Both lost two points.
Top four is a hard war, because we’re not only four teams, we’re six teams. Now we have 11 games to play till the end of the season. We’ll try to take the maximum points.
Chelsea face just two of the current top six sides in the league in their remaining 10 league fixtures; Liverpool and Manchester United respectively, and are just two points behind United in fourth with a game in hand following Sunday’s win at Craven Cottage.
