Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has come under intense scrutiny in recent weeks, with many questioning how long he has left as manager at Stamford Bridge after suffering from two of their worst ever Premier League defeats.
Bournemouth stunned the Blues in a 4-0 victory at the end of January in what was Sarri’s lowest point as Chelsea manager, only for that feat to drop even lower just 11 days later after a 6-0 drubbing against champions Manchester City.
Pressure had begun to grow on the Italian’s shoulders even before those defeats with many becoming frustrated by his ‘Sarriball’ system, and now the Chelsea boss has reached a pivotal moment in his career at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues feature in the FA Cup fifth round against Manchester United on Monday night. This comes before the second leg of the Europa League round of 16 with Malmo on Thursday and the Carabao Cup final against City next Sunday, with defeat in any of those three likely to raise further questions over Sarri’s future.
