Club reveal plans to sign Chelsea man on permanent deal

Everton boss Marco Silva has revealed that he is ready to test Chelsea’s resolve to try and sign Kurt Zouma on a permanent deal this Summer.

Zouma joined the Blues on loan on deadline day in August, and has been ever present for Everton this season.

After impressing Everton and Marco Silva, the Portuguese boss is reportedly set to try and sign the Frenchman this Summer on a permanent deal.

Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, Silva revealed that he is really pleased with Zouma, and that he has added a different dimension to Everton’s defence.

I took the decision in the last day of the market. I had the name in my mind, always, and was in contact with people who are close to him but I had that solution in mind, even if you know the club doesn’t want to sell him.

But I had his name in my mind and so took the decision on the last day of the market.

I am pleased because he is helping our team, he fits well in our squad, he is a little bit different in terms of profile to our other central defenders – he is a little bit faster when we lose the ball – he is different to Jags, Mina and Michael.

Silva has come under pressure from some Everton fans, with Everton struggling to get consistent results this season.

Zouma still has four years left on his Chelsea contract, but the lure of consistent first-team football may mean he finally leaves the Blues.

The Frenchman has been sent out on loan to Saint Etienne, Stoke City and Everton during his time in West London.

However, Silva revealed he is keen to make a move for Zouma, but he is unsure as to whether or not the defender would move permanently.

But I am really happy with him, he is improving, trying, he is a good professional, he is happy in our club, he is a good team-mate and a really important player.

Let’s see what we can do or not in the future.

But it’s also about his opinion, about his future. But we are really happy with him.
