Chelsea striker Gonzalo Higuain has said he is relishing the chance to work under Maurizio Sarri once again.
The Argentine scored twice for the Blues in their 5-0 win against Huddersfield and looked very comfortable leading the line.
Higuain scored 36 goals in the 2015-16 Serie A season whilst playing under Sarri at Napoli and the Evening Standard reports that he is looking forward to playing for him this season.
Sarri is the coach who has got the best out of me as a player. He’s someone who knew how to work with me, particularly on the emotional side. That (2015-16) was a wonderful season, one in which I broke the goal-scoring record, which is very important out there.
The 31-year-old did admit that he was shocked at the physicality of Premier League defenders but he hopes he can adapt quickly to the English style of football.
I can see there is a change from the Italian league because here the defenders go into you harder, especially when you receive the ball to feet. This is a big difference, but I have got a good impression of English football and as I gradually get to know my team-mates it will only get better for me.
Higuain will need to adapt quickly as he and his teammates face Manchester City on Sunday.
Chelsea face the difficult task of playing six games in 18 days this February and time will tell if Sarri’s men are up to the challenge.
