RB Leipzig’s willingness to include a buy-back clause is giving them a major advantage over Bayern in the race to sign Callum Hudson-Odoi.
Sky Sports reporter Aidan Magee, as cited on the Express, claims that both Bayern and Leipzig are battling it out to sign the player.
Callum Hudson-Odoi is attracting interest from RB Leipzig and Juventus as well as Bayern Munich. The player’s first choice remains Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga, however Chelsea are insisting on a buy-back clause for the 18-year-old.
RB Leipzig would be happy with this arrangement but Bayern are not willing to include one after seeing multiple bids turned down this week.
However, Chelsea are insisting that a buy-back clause is put into any deal that takes the winger to Germany.
Following the transfer mistakes of Romelu Lukaku and Kevin De Brune in recent years, it has become common practice for Chelsea to include buy-back agreements into deals when players leave the club.
Chelsea have previously done the same with the likes of Thorgan Hazard, Nathaniel Chalobah and Nathan Ake among others.
With concerns over the amount of playing time available at Stamford Bridge, Hudson-Odoi is already being linked with big-money moves, despite not yet breaking through at the club.
Bayern have already reportedly had an offer rejected for the winger, with Chelsea demanding around £40 million.
