Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed in Tuesday’s press conference that Alexis Sanchez would make his return to action against Newcastle United.
The Chilean, signed in January, only managed four goals in 30 games under Jose Mourinho, under whose management he never looked content in a red shirt.
He returned to Manchester a couple of weeks ago after receiving treatment on a hamstring injury, and was seen training with the squad ahead of their 4-1 win over AFC Bournemouth.
Solskjaer noted that, while Bournemouth came too soon for Sanchez, he was ‘chomping at the bit’ to feature at St James’s Park.
Ole: “He (Sanchez) will be involved (vs Newcastle). He wants to play all the time, he’s one of those characters. He put himself available but it was a few days too early for him. He’s not had enough fitness but he’s champing at the bit.” #mufc [Telegraph]

It is difficult to imagine Sanchez in a positive light as a Man United supporter following a good 11 months of painful mediocrity under the watch of Mourinho.
But Mourinho is no longer here. The clouds of despair brought by the Portuguese are giving way to the sunshine of Solskjaer. There is a clean slate for everybody, and the mood and level of performance among players has therefore skyrocketed.
In a team which is suddenly playing quick, precise passes forward in the final third, committing full-backs down the flanks and men running in behind, Sanchez has the perfect platform from which to start feeling at home.
