AC Milan are pushing to complete a cut-price deal worth €30 million for Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Frenchman arrived at San Siro ahead of the current campaign on a season-long loan deal following a problematic introduction to English football under Antonio Conte at Stamford Bridge.
Bakayoko has established himself as a vital cog in Gennaro Gattuso’s Milan side, and it is claimed by Sport Italia, as cited in a report from Calciomercato, that the Serie A giants are looking to negotiate a lower option to buy fee with Chelsea.
The report states that the Rossoneri currently have the chance to sign the former AS Monaco midfielder for €35 million in the summer following his loan spell.
However, the club’s sporting director Leonardo and sporting strategy and development director Paolo Maldini are claimed to be pursuing a deal worth €5 million less for the player.
The 24-year-old has made 11 starts in the top-flight of Italian football this season and has also appeared from the bench on five occasions.
