Eden Hazard has given a blunt response to recent criticism from Maurizio Sarri, admitting he doesn’t care about what he thinks of him.
The Chelsea manager claimed the Belgian was not a leader after the Blues’ 2-0 defeat at Arsenal last weekend, also questioning his players’ motivation.
Hazard delivered a positive response on the pitch on Thursday night, scoring his side’s second goal as they beat Tottenham on penalties to reach the EFL Cup final.
In an interview with Sky Sports after the game, Hazard was brutally honest about the situation, saying:
I don’t care. I just play my football. It doesn’t matter what the manager said.
I just focus on my football and want to do my best for this team.
It has been a tough run of form for Chelsea, but Hazard and his teammates all performed well after their manager’s stern words.
They played with more vibrancy than has recently been on show and there could be no question marks surrounding their motivation this time.
The Blues will face Manchester City in next month’s final at Wembley.
