Chelsea are said to be close to finally saying farewell to Lucas Piazon.
The once highly-rated winger is now 25 years of age, and unlikely to get anywhere near the standard he was tipped for when the Blues signed him from Sao Paolo back in 2011.
A tricky career in West London saw the wide-man head out on loan five times, including spells at Malaga, Vitesse, Eintracht Frankfurt, Reading, and finally Fulham.
Piazon hasn’t played for Chelsea since the 2012-13 season, where he made one appearance in the league and two in the League Cup.
Subsequently, the former Brazil U23 sensation can’t command a terrifically high fee.
Despite several clubs being interested in the fallen star (including Marseille, Nantes, Saint Etienne, and Bordeaux of Ligue 1), it is Torino of Serie A who are close to finalising a €3 million deal for the forward, according to Sebastien Denis of Foot Mercato.
Is the Piazon saga nearly over?
