Chelsea are facing a race against time as they bid to sign Gonzalo Higuain before they take on Tottenham Hotspur in the second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final.
According to a report from the Telegraph, the Blues are anxious over their chances of tying up a loan deal with Juventus for the Argentina international before the competition’s selection deadline of midday on Wednesday.
The Blues have been pursuing a deal for Higuain recently as they bid to resolve their striking problems this season.
Maurizio Sarri worked with the player during his time in charge of Napoli and is desperate to have him available when Chelsea welcome Spurs in the second leg of the semi-final fixture with Spurs.
