Antonio Valencia expects to leave Manchester United this summer after ten years at the club, according to reports.
The Ecuadorian, a regular in Jose Mourinho’s first two seasons, will become a free agent this summer should the club decide against granting him an extension.
He has only made five Premier League appearances this season, managing just one start from Ole Gunnar Solskaer’s first nine games as caretaker manager.
And according to the M.E.N‘s Samuel Luckhurst, Valencia is resigned to leaving Old Trafford over the summer after failing to fulfill the full-back role this season.
The club captain was not included in the match-day squad against Burnley, nor did he travel down to Arsenal, where first choice pair Luke Shaw and Ashley Young started. His marked decline in mobility and speed on the ball, coupled with continued knee problems, has relegated him down the pecking order and convinced supporters that his days as a United player are over.
He has been a truly superb servant to the club but it was clear to both Mourinho and Solskjaer this season that his time at the top is over.
