Reported Arsenal target Ivan Perisic has handed in a transfer request at the Serie A side, Inter Milan.
There was some confusion when the BBC’s David Ornstein announced Arsenal’s interest in signing the Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic.
The 29-year-old is hardly the type of signing that Arsenal have pursued in recent years especially given the price which has been touted.
Arsenal have made an approach to sign Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic. #AFC want loan with £35m option to buy. 29yo open to #Inter exit. Fits plan of versatile midfielder e.g. Suarez (still possible) / Nkunku + winger. Unclear if injuries mean defender wanted but Sokratis not bad

Reports in Italy and England have suggested that the Gunners would need to spend upwards of £35 million to make the Croatian international an Arsenal player.
Now, these rumours may have taken a step closer to coming into fruition with reports that Perisic has handed in a transfer request at the Serie A side.
“Perisic? We must accept the situation that some players show a willingness to be transferred,” said Inter’s CEO Giuseppe Marotta in an interview with Sky Italia.
“The player has expressed this desire, we want to satisfy him but we also need to respect the value of the player. Nothing concrete has arrived yet, we’ll wait to see in the coming days.”
It’s an interesting transfer story that has taken another turn. It seems clear that Arsenal are interested in Ivan Perisic, a player who has shown glimpses of real quality both for his club and country. However, £35 million for a 29-year-old player is not a good piece of business. Hopefully, the Gunners can negotiate down.
